Maria del C Colon-Gonzalez, McAllen Family Medicine Residency Program Department of Family and Community Medicine University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio
Maria was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She completed school in Puerto Rico.  Attending the University of Puerto Rico where she received a bachelor degree in Human Biology and finalized her medical degree.  She completed residency at Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania, where she started exploring the world of Global Health.  This took Maria to New England; just finishing her residency she joined the Brown Alpert Medical School to complete a fellowship in Faculty Development for Global Health. Currently she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
